Wild Workout Wednesday: Training for Indy Women’s Half

Training Season.  The word season actually implies that there is a beginning and end to it, but we all know that isn’t true!  Sure, the races come and go but training never ends.  Our next two big races are close enough together that I created the CRG24 (Crazy Runner Girl 24 week) plan to help us stay on top of our training and be properly prepared for both races without, hopefully, getting burnt out before the second race!

We’re in the middle of Week 14 and my BRF’s {best running friends} still like me … they even did speed drills without me yesterday morning because my legs were still shot from two separate runs on Monday.  They think I’m crazy because I love speed drills.  But how can you not love something that works so well … Every Single Time?!

Also, I love this Game Day workout from Angelena Marie!  It’s even in Colts blue! {Okay, she’s a Lions fan, but I’ll try not to hold that against her!} :)

Training for the Indy Women’s Half Marathon or 5K on September 19 is in its final weeks, with long runs of 8 miles, 10 miles and 8 miles left before race day.  After knocking out 12 miles last week, these last three weeks should be easy!  {Read our 2014 Race Recap here!}

No time to train but want to hang out downtown and enjoy the festivities?  Do you have friends or family coming as spectators who want a front row seat to your race? Are you looking for a fun new way to log those community service hours for work or school?

You can sign up to VOLUNTEER here There are a few weekday volunteer spots left for the week leading up to the race; and several spots still open for Expo/Packet Pick Up Friday night as well as those “front row seats” assisting with water and aid stations along the course!

The Java & Sole girls and I were in charge of the water station just past the finish line of the 2015 Indianapolis Mini Marathon – it was my first as a race day volunteer and it was such a fantastic experience!  You can read more about it here :)

      Thank you Annmarie – it’s crazy to think that I am going through speed drill withdrawals after missing them last week. I am almost giddy for dark thirty tomorrow :)
