Wild Workout Wednesday: Back to School

It happened.  Just like I knew it would.  The alarms went off and the kids got ready for their first day of school.  Kindergarten and Third Grade … Kindergarten!  And THIRD Grade!

first day three

My mommy heart is torn between thrilled for them – because all three of them were so excited to start the school year – and kind of lost I guess.  I imagine the school year will fly by, as it always does, but this is going to take some getting used to.  One day at a time, right?

Today: Coffee.  Writing.  Running.  Gotta keep my mind busy :)

So my Wild Workout Wednesday isn’t actually all that Wild (sorry Sarah!), but it’s certainly new to me.  Who knows, I may spend most of my day working out just to stay busy … and filling out all of that back-to-school paperwork!

So thankful for my sweet Runner Girls, my BFF and my mom for their supportive texts this morning – and for my neighbor who knew tears (my tears) were imminent at the bus stop.

My little Kindergarten guy is probably preparing for his first cafeteria lunch experience … better lace up those running shoes sooner rather than later.  With any luck they’ll be home before I know it!  :)

Thanks to Sarah @Creating A Better Tomorrow and her friends Annmarie @The Fit Foodie Mama, Michelle @Fruition Fitness and Angelena Marie @Happy, Healthy & Balanced for hosting the Wild Workout Wednesday link up!  Check out their at-home circuit workouts, tempo run advice and long run recovery essentials!

Thank you Sarah! I used to hate it when people would say things like “savor the moment, it goes so fast” but now I am that person – I can not believe my baby started K this year. I’m still trying to get that to sink in! Thanks so much for hosting the link up and for stopping by :)

  3. Wow you are already back to school?! That’s early. My baby is getting ready to go to college-talk about tears :)

OH My GOSH Deborah, I do not envy you! The girls recently told me that since they are 9+9 it’s like they are 18 and I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown just realizing they are going to eventually turn 18, God Willing :) Sending you hugs as you take your baby to college!

  4. Awww I will be sad too when my kids get on the school bus (especially for the first time) :( Thanks for linking up and joining us!

Thanks so much for stopping by – it was bittersweet for sure. But I know they all really love their teachers this year and that makes all the difference :)

My daughter will be starting pre-k and my baby just turned 1…I can’t imagine them both in school getting on busses! Thanks for linking up!

The funny thing is, I imagined myself with all this extra time on my hands they day they all three stepped on the bus for an *entire* day! And the exact opposite has happened – now I feel more like their activities manager then their mom, just making sure we get the right kids to tennis, guitar lessons and soccer practice and that everyone’s homework gets finished! I started a new job last week too, three days a week, but somehow my days just disappear! Still working hard to find that balance :) Thanks for stopping by!!
