Weekend Update: Runner Girls Night Out

It’s Weekend Update time with Tara at Running N Reading!

And I have to tell you … A rare thing happened Friday night.  I saw my Runner Girls in the daylight!

At dinner time … with normal clothes on … and make up … and no reflective gear, or running shoes or ponytails in sight :)

We met downtown at Bakersfield, a place known for their tacos and margaritas.  We were ready to celebrate summer and friendship and Jess’s new job!

I promise, we didn’t let Jess drink that pitcher by herself :)

Cheers to our local boutique, Ella Mae’s, for making sure these crazy Java & Sole mamas are looking trendy and stylish

I think they were trying to hide us in the corner?!?

Carla will make sure no one messes with our margaritas :)

Then ice cream at Sub Zero … where they start with milk and sugar and literally make the ice cream in front of you while you wait!  Deliciously amazing!

Of course, Sunday morning we met for 4 humid miles to run off all those tasty treats!

But we never miss a Monday!  Okay, so most of our run got rained out, but we tried!

When/where was your last night out?  Friday … last week could not go fast enough!  Favorite Mexican food?  Chicken taco salad and guac!  Favorite ice cream toppings?  Favorite coffee beverage!?! :) Iced coffee with vanilla almond milk sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg

  1. Isn’t it so weird to see your running friends in their “other” clothes?!? We all just sort of stand around looking at each other for the first few minutes, like we’re each some foreign species…and then start telling each other how cute we look – ha! I’m so glad you were all able to get together like this; what fun!! I love taco salads, too; they are the best!! Thanks so much for linking up with the blog today; hope your Monday is great!

    1. Java & Sole says:

Tara, you are so right! I see several of these girls at church, but the first few times I run into them there I am completely thrown off. Starting to understand why the beauty industry is so lucrative :) Thank you so much for stopping by today!

  2. I love hanging out with my BRFs in non running settings! We share everything so why not a night out too! And guacamole is my favorite. All day every day!
