Thinking Out Loud Thursday: Falling Stars

Hello lovelies!  So happy to link up with Amanda from Running With Spoons again because …

Did you hear about the Lyrid Meteor Shower that has taken place this week and “peaked” this morning? Several of us met to run today in hopes of catching a glimpse of a falling star 🙂

Did you also know that it’s extremely hard (not to mention dangerous!) to run while looking straight up at the sky hoping to see some meteor action?!  Clearly we are not astronomers!

We decided to finish our run, then looks for stars 🙂

Try as I might, this is the best I could do without a telescope at the end of my camera! If you look really, really closely, you can see a couple of the brightest stars …. this is where we saw most of the meteor shower action.  These pictures are much better!!

And this … What is wrong with this picture?

Hats? Gloves? Winter coats?  HOT Coffee?  What month is it again??  I outright refused to break out the winter hat and gloves for our run this morning after putting everything away over Spring Break.  To grab my winter running jacket out of the closet almost broke me.  We had to bring our strawberry plant in from outside last night because of a Freeze Warning … at the end of April!  I just can not wrap my head around this!

Finally, I want to give a very special birthday shout-out to my husband’s Great-Grandma R. celebrating her 100th Birthday today!  My husband and I were talking about all the things she has seen and experienced in her lifetime … far beyond falling stars and winter in April 🙂  She is truly amazing!

Did you watch for the meteor shower this week?  How do you feel about winter wear in April?!  Do you know anyone who has celebrated his/her 100th birthday?

We’re always making memories 🙂 I was excited I *finally* saw one just before we went inside!!

  2. Oh wow! Happy birthday to Grandma R! That’s pretty darn amazing 😀 And I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve griped about the fact that it’s impossible to take gorgeous pictures of the night sky to share on the blog. Or maybe it -is- possible and I just have no ice how to do it 😆

Thanks for the birthday wishes to Grandma R! Overall, I’m pretty impressed with some of the pictures I have been able to take on my iphone camera (sunrise and sunset especially) but the night photos are a bust every.single.time! Glad I’m not the only one 🙂
