I captured this beautiful sunrise on my way home from our run this morning … so clearly it’s going to be a gorgeous day!
This morning was a short 2 miler – it was a shake out run for some tapering for the 500 Festival Mini Marathon on Saturday and it was a slow and steady “stick with it” run for others.
We just love creating artistic selfies :)
Last night marked the end of our training program and our carb-loading banquet!
These trainers and group leaders could not be prouder of our trainees! Eric (second from left below) lost 24 lbs during our 16 week training and flew through multiple pace groups!! Kathy (far right) started out not sure she even wanted to complete the 13.1 miles, but ran her last 10 mile training run at a smoking 10:30 pace!
Running is my personal therapy for sure, but watching this group transform their thoughts, their bodies and their overall health in a matter of weeks is amazing. It is truly one of the greatest gifts I have received since I started my own Runner Girl journey. And I am so, so, so grateful to be a part of these journeys as well!
For the first time in 4 years, I am not running this weekend. Which actually sunk in this week, and it was weird! BUT … one of our RG New Year’s Resolutions/Declare It Day goals was to volunteer at a race this year and the Indy Mini happened to be the perfect race! Don’t you love our Official Volunteer Shirts?!
Nearly all of us have already run the Mini several times so volunteering this year will be a treat. Sherry and Jenny have kept us organized and Amy has creatively “designed” our costumes! I can’t wait to share photos of our “other side of the race” experience!! We even have a few girls running the 5K or the half who are coming back to join us at our water station after they finish – now that is dedication!
