Green Weekend

Hello again friends!  It has been a crazy weekend of celebration for several of our Runner Girls as well as for me personally!

I’m linking up with Tara‘s Weekend Update again!  You can check out her weekend adventures here.

Saturday kicked off the unofficial start to St. Patrick’s Day festivities in many cities, including ours.  Two different themed races took place on Saturday: the Shamrock 4 miler downtown and the No Luck Run Half Marathon, 5K or 1 mile races on the west side.  Of course, we had representation at both races … because who doesn’t like to break out the shamrocks, the tutus and the green beverages? 🙂

Yes, Amy ran the “No Luck Run” Half with a broken wrist…gotta love that irony!  But Amy, along with Mary and Dawn, all placed in the top 10 in their age group – not bad for “No Luck!”

With the state gymnastics meet this past weekend, and the final basketball game of the season for many of our kiddos, some of us chose to run on Sunday morning instead.

I’d rather have this post-run drink over green beer anyway!

With our busy schedules, we have to maximize our time!  We’ve been known to do shoe fittings during coffee.

But this week, it was an injury assessment from nurse Geri.

Personally, we celebrated my girls’ last game in their current basketball league before they move up next winter as well as my sister-in-law’s birthday AND receipt of her BSN (not that I would ever text her with silly medical questions…no, certainly not!)

And today I must give a special celebration shout-out to my husband for being patient with me while I finish this post on HIS birthday!  We were hosting and traveling and celebrating all weekend, thank you for all your help … Happy Birthday hon!

Thank you for stopping in – I love following your Weekend Update posts 🙂 “How to run in the rain” was great. I (usually) love running in the rain, but admittedly I don’t have to do that nearly as often in the Midwest as you do in Washington!

Thanks so much! Incidentally, my husband’s absolute favorite holiday is St. Patrick’s Day, so double the fun! Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂

  5. I love everyone’s green running outfits; y’all look amazing! Kudos to Amy for running a race WITH A CAST ON!! Runners are neurotic, right? I’m sure I would have been out there doing the EXACT same thing – ha! What a great story! Thanks so much for linking up with the blog this week and I hope you’re having a great day!

The things we do just to keep running – it is hilarious sometimes 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by, and for always hosting a great Weekend Update Tara!
