Donuts and Sunsets

Friends, I have a confession.  I know you’ll be shocked to find out …

We love to take pictures.  Of Everything.  All the time.  For no reason at all :)

I/We took so many race day pictures that I decided to share the rest of our weekend fun for another day.  Luckily, that day is today!

You know the weekend will be full of deliciousness when you find this waiting for you outside the grocery store Friday morning:

Seriously, don’t they know there are girls who love donuts running right past here?

Saturday morning we ran the Carmel Half Marathon and 8K, then were back in time for soccer games and track meets!

Clearly I have passed on my obsession with photography, because this is how my kids passed the time during the drive to my parents’ house in Cincinnati after church: sunset pictures!

I think they each have a very artful eye :)

And on Sunday, this happened:

The amazing Lion King Broadway play was showing at the Aronoff Center and we all got to go!  I had seen this play once before, on Broadway in 1998, but had a much better appreciation for the spectacular-ness (yep, I made that up) of it all this time!

The opening scene where all the animals arrive on stage was probably my favorite, but I spent the entire time trying to figure out how they made all those costumes “work” :)

Special thanks to my parents for getting my kids and nephews these cute little Simbas to take with them to the show!

From Saturday’s half marathon, soccer game, church and road trip to Sunday’s lunch, Lion King and road trip home it was definitely a crazy-exhausting but fun-filled weekend! If my calves, quads and glutes hadn’t been so sore Sunday (and Monday … those hills!) I might have forgotten I even ran a half Saturday morning!

Good thing I had these girls to stretch it out with me on Monday!

bux4.20 Have you ever seen a play on Broadway?  Yes! Which one?  Lion King, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables in NYC! Beauty and the Beast (Toronto) and Lion King #2 (Cincinnati)

Have you ever come across an unattended donut truck?  What did you do?!? :)  Photo Ops!

You’re so funny with that donut truck! We saw Wicked on Broadway which was amazing of course. We’re all set to see Phantom again this summer in London! Nice pics!
